Final chance to nominate yourself for a seat on RCN Council

Members have until 4.30pm on Monday 23 January 2023 to submit their nominations.

RCN Council elections

Members have just a week to put themselves forward for election to nine seats on the RCN’s governing Council.

RCN Council provides leadership and direction for the organisation. Its purpose is to set strategy, ensure accountability to the membership, and oversee organisational performance. Council also ensures the voices of all our stakeholders are heard.

RCN President Sheilabye Sobrany said this is a fantastic opportunity to guide and direct the vision and aims of the RCN.

She added: "We need members from all areas of nursing, from different backgrounds and with different experiences, to help steer the College through pivotal moments. This is your union and your opportunity to drive the change you want to see."

Candidates must be nominated by two members in the relevant constituency and, to help members decide how to vote, they should supply a statement of how they meet the qualities, skills and experience required for the role.

Elections are taking place in the following constituencies:

  • East Midlands
  • Eastern
  • Northern
  • Northern Ireland
  • Nursing support workers
  • Scotland
  • South West
  • Wales
  • West Midlands.

The term of office for successful candidates will end on 31 December 2023.
