Funding to attend Congress
Find out how to apply for funding for Congress.
RCN members can apply for funding to attend Congress either as a voting member who represents their branch, or first choice forum, or for funding from their RCN region or country.
Voting member funding
Please note that applications for voting member funding for Congress 2019 closed on 17 October 2018.
Any member can apply to represent their branch or forum as a voting member. Voting members, as the name suggests, sit in the main hall during the Congress debates, listen to all the debates, and vote on resolutions.
Being a voting member is a great opportunity to play an active role in the RCN and you will be required to discuss the debates with your branch or forum committee before and after Congress, and ensure that you have a good understanding of the topics under discussion.
As a voting member you get your travel and accommodation provided, and expenses covered (in accordance with our Expenses policy) for the times you are registered to vote at Congress.
Why not read our guidance for voting members to get more of an idea of what you will be doing before, during and after Congress if your application to become a voting member is successful.
Country and regional funding
Every RCN country or regional board has an amount of money to help members attend Congress, particularly those who may not have attended before. This may be used to fully fund individuals, pay a contribution, or, for example, pay for a coach to take a whole bunch of members together.
Look out for information from your RCN country or regional office about the funding available from them – this will be by email or on their webpages.
