Why nurses and midwives must be innovation leaders

19 Sep 2021, 17:30 - 18:00

  • Room 12, Online
Hosted by: RCN Oxfordshire Branch with iCrowd, RCN Oxfordshire Branch, RCN Research Society

Twenty first century is known for fast-paced innovation and use of novel ideas to overcome complex problems. Despite this worldwide trend, many nurses don’t see themselves as innovators and therefore are not encouraged to innovate or credited when they do.

We need to act now to ensure nurses and midwives emerge as innovation leaders or be left behind. This event aims to explore ways to encourage and recognise nursing innovation and develop an active and supportive culture.

Using examples from practice, we will present arguments for and against innovation in nursing and how innovation can be recognised, encouraged, implemented and evaluated.
