Can the RCN be an effective professional body and trade union?

This event will take the form of a moderated panel discussion on the dual function of the RCN as a professional body and a trade union, and the effectiveness of the governance structures which underpin this position.
The focus will be on the role of the Professional Nursing Committee (PNC). There will be a review of the current governance structure. A panel will then debate the strengths and weaknesses of this structure and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of possible alternative models. Discussion will be opened to the floor to allow delegates to express views on the roles and work of the PNC and Trade Union Committee.
