Drink wise, age well
14 May 2018, 18:45 - 19:30
Age-related changes to the body coupled with life transitions mean that those who are over 50 years of age are more vulnerable to the harms of alcohol.
There are more opportunities to consume alcohol, such as retirement, bereavement and loss of sense of purpose within the older population.
This event will:
- review risk factors that lead to harmful drinking in the older population
- enable you to understand the harmful effects of alcohol on the over-50 age group
- demonstrate how to start an informed conversation and where to signpost people to for support.
This event is aimed at anyone who has contact with people over 50 years of age.
