Empowering internationally educated nurses

17 May 2023, 13:00 - 13:45

  • Syndicate 2, Ground Floor, The Brighton Centre, King's Road, Brighton, BN1 2GR
Hosted by: RCN Eastern Region, Essex Branch

Collaboration: RCN Education Forum, RCN England, RCN Nurses in Management and Leadership Forum and the UK Learning Reps Committee

This session will focus on strategies that can help nurses who are new to the UK nursing register to find their voice with confidence and to break down communication obstacles and worries.

Research has shown that cross cultural training and awareness has a positive effect in minimising cultural shock for international nursing staff. Inclusion data from the NMC have also shown that some health professionals treat internationally educated health professionals inappropriately.

The event is aimed at all internationally educated nurses and support workers as well as those who support this group of nurses in the UK.
