Everyone’s a leader: Techniques for success in a complex world
All nurses are leaders, some are managers, and they work with complexities of advancing technology and changing demographics. They face daily challenges due to workforce shortages and funding pressures. Many do not see themselves as leaders, and nurse managers lack support and preparation for that role. Five skills/competencies are identified in an evidence-based paper: • role modelling
• emotional intelligence
• motivational skills
• organisational skills
• holding critical conversations
Delegates are invited to participate in considering the five key skills/competencies and discuss how to develop them. Useful takeaway tools will be provided.
