John Goodlad Lecture: Paul Blanchard – Life after an accident
06 Jun 2022, 13:00 - 13:45
Have you ever thought to yourself: “It will only take a couple of minutes? I’ll be okay, as I’ve done it before. There’s no need to use time consuming safety measures.”
Then think again! Taking a shortcut could change your life forever. It did for Paul Blanchard, a self-employed builder, who was working by himself on a farm building, when he fell 12 feet through a roof opening, landing on cattle railing.
When Paul woke from a three-month induced coma, he discovered that he had broken his back and was paralysed from the chest down.
Passionate about helping people to not have a momentary lapse of life concentration he once had, Paul’s story is uplifting and inspiring.
Having come to terms with his situation, and with his family’s help and support, Paul now lives his life to the full.
During this event, Paul will talk about the effects his accident has had on his life, overcoming hurdles, and how no matter how difficult a journey can be, it can be fulfilling.
