Caring for older people in care homes is often undervalued despite being a highly complex and skilled role, bringing physical, mental and emotional intelligence to nursing frail people with multiple long-term conditions.
Ensuring resident’s quality of health and life is the best it can be and as independent as possible, while providing support and comfort in end-of-life care.   Nursing in care homes provides opportunities to develop expertise in holistic person-centred care, specialist knowledge and skills, undertake research and change practice. Join RCN advisers in partnership with Skills for Care to celebrate this wonderfully fulfilling and rewarding role.
