Physical activity for the management and prevention of disease
14 May 2018, 18:45 - 19:30
The UK has amongst the lowest levels of physical activity, with almost 25% of people defined as ‘inactive’. Very brief advice on physical activity from health care professionals has been shown to improve clinical outcomes.
Nurses have a vital role: one in four patients would be more active if advised by a nurse or GP but as many as 41.5% of nurses are unaware of the recommended guidelines for physical activity.
This interactive training event will develop knowledge and give practical tips on how to integrate physical activity advice and brief interventions into clinical practice for nurses.
