Providing psychological support to nursing teams working within care home settings throughout COVID-19 and beyond

Distressing psychological outcomes of nursing teams working in care homes throughout the pandemic are well documented. This session, which involves a panel of experts, will outline the psychological impact of COVID-19 for nurses and nursing support workers (NSWs) from care homes and the effect it has had on their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

It will also analyse the effectiveness of psychological first aid as an intervention to enhance psychological outcomes for nurses and HCSWs, and will present a robust, evidence-based approach to supporting positive psychological outcomes for nurses and HCSWs working within the care home sector in the future.
