Reasonable adjustments for autistic clinicians

15 May 2023, 17:45 - 18:30

  • Room 1B, Ground Floor, The Brighton Centre, King's Road, Brighton, BN1 2GR
Hosted by: RCN Member Support Services

Collaboration: RCN Greater Bristol Branch, South West region

This event will present research regarding reasonable adjustments for autistic clinicians (NMC, HCPC, and GMC registrants) in Great Britain (where the Equality Act is in force).

The research forms the basis of recommendations that can be made to employers regarding reasonable adjustments for their autistic clinical employees.

Delegates will be given an overview of the autistic experience in health care and of the needs and barriers that autistic clinicians experience regarding reasonable adjustments and ways in which those barriers can be overcome. Delegates will also hear about the RCN’s Peer Support Service.

The session will be useful to those RCN delegates who are autistic, work with autistic people, or employ autistic people. It will benefit delegates by providing information about reasonable adjustments for either themselves as autistic health care professionals, or colleagues with autism.
