Collaboration: Gloucestershire Hospitals Staff Transition and Retention Support Network and Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation

Evidence demonstrates that starting any new job can be overwhelming, it is widely recognised that the transition period from student to registered nurse is challenging. The NHS is facing an unprecedented resource and staffing crisis, and in circumstances such as this, pastoral care and civility are usually the first to fall by the wayside.

This event is to showcase how the development of Gloucestershire Hospitals Staff Transition & Retention Support Network (GloSTaRS) within an acute hospital trust can aid the retention and wellbeing of staff, with a particular focus on newly registered staff along with supporting our international nurses. It will also look at the how embedding a practice development team can meet the needs of the workforce and improve staff retention.

Delegates will understand:

The session is open to all delegates interested in innovation, shared decision-making, co-creation, patient safety, and solution-based problem-solving.
