Student Programme: Suicidal ideation: awareness and support

This session seeks to support participants to gain greater insight and understanding of how to care for people with suicidal ideation.

It will outline basic strategies and interventions to help increase confidence in dealing with the issues around suicide.

By the end of this session, participants will be more familiar with the concept of suicidal ideation. Participants will be:

  • Introduced to the evidence base that underpins practice related to this topic.
  • Supported to have a better understanding of how to communicate with someone who expresses suicidal ideation.
  • Will feel better equipped to support for people who may display suicidal ideation.
