Hosted by: RCN Public Health Forum

Collaboration: Foundation of Nursing Studies

Climate change poses the most profound long-term threat to the nation’s health, with avoidable deaths happening now. The climate emergency threatens to undermine advances made to public health over the last 50 years, affecting usually the most vulnerable members of society, those who contribute least to the problem. Health care plays a significant part, creating around 4% of global emissions and huge waste. We explore nursing staff’s role in addressing the climate crisis by promoting the ‘green’ message for healthier lifestyles, and implementing more stream-lined care pathways to reduce waste, carbon, costs and bring about benefits to patients and staff alike.

The session is open to all nursing staff.
