The John Goodlad Memorial Lecture

Professor Neil Greenberg is a consultant occupational and forensic psychiatrist and served in the United Kingdom Armed Forces for over 23 years. Since 1997 Professor Greenberg has been at the forefront of developing peer led traumatic stress support packages. He founded March on Stress a psychological health consultancy which specialises in Trauma Risk Management (TRiM).

TRiM is a peer-delivered risk assessment and ongoing support system, designed specifically to help in the management of traumatic events. It is not a clinical intervention, a form of counselling or treatment. TRiM is highly effective because people are often more comfortable talking to peers.

The system is an ongoing method of monitoring and support not just a single session intervention. However it is not a solution for ongoing occupational stresses such as excessive workload and long hours.
