The value of legacy nurse mentorship

17 May 2023, 13:00 - 13:45

  • Room 1C, Ground Floor, The Brighton Centre, King's Road, Brighton, BN1 2GR
Hosted by: RCN General Practice Nurse Forum

Collaboration: RCN Leadership and Management Forum

Legacy mentorship is a key area to support workforce retention, supported by Chief Nursing Officer, Ruth May.

Within the context of workforce shortages and a high percentage of nurses reaching the age of retirement, the Devon Integrated Care Board have successfully delivered a unique model of legacy nurse mentorship that is proven to support recruitment and retention of both new nurses and our most experienced nurses.

The model is economical and easily transferrable to any area within health care, this event will demonstrate that Legacy mentorship can be delivered in any setting, will stimulate discussion and challenge the traditional models currently being introduced within some trusts.

Suitable for all grades but particularly of interest for those in a position of leadership and with workforce responsibilities and nurses who would like to consider becoming a legacy mentor.
