Widening participation: routes to success in pre-registration nursing

Widening the educational entry gate to nursing and ensuring effective support for those admitted to online nursing degrees is extremely topical in light of the recently published NHS Long Term Plan for England (2019).
Contributions at this seminar will bring to the fore the continuing support and challenges for the future of pre-registration nursing programmes. We offer an opportunity for delegates to discuss the specific challenges of developing sufficient qualified nurses to meet the care targets across the four nations of the UK.The seminar considers – the place of widening the educational entry gate, the aspirations of potential nursing students, incorporating study skills into pre-registration nursing and current experiences regarding online learning.
