Building trust and understanding between young people at risk of serious youth violence and the nursing team

20 Sep 2021, 12:30 - 13:00

  • Room 1B, Online
Hosted by: CYP Acute Care Forum with RCNi, RCN Nursing, Employment Relations and Public Affairs & Policy

Serious youth violence is an increasing problem across the UK. This event will show how we can improve our understanding of the experiences of young people who are victims of or at risk of serious youth violence. Inspiring RCN Nurse of the Year 2020 Ana Waddington has organised an army of volunteer nurses and medics to teach at-risk young people basic life-saving skills. It also aims to improve communication between the nursing profession and young people, many of whom come from traumatic and chaotic environments.

The event is aimed at all members of the nursing profession, including nursing support workers and nursing students who will meet young people in the job.
