This seminar aims to provide an informative and educative session on Parity of Esteem for mental health, exploring and examining the underlying reasons for the current premature death of many with serious mental health issues. The seminar will also explore broader perspectives around mental health equality and identify what your role may be in delivering this agenda.

This seminar is aimed at Registered Nurses, Health Care Support Workers and Nursing Students working in any sector.
Topics include:
- Knowledge on health outcomes for those with serious mental illness
- Perspectives on what underlies these physical health outcomes
- Personal stories, case studies and insights about supporting people in clinical practice
- Action Learning Groups to equip nurses to consider what they can do to help improve the physical health of those with serious mental illness
There will be a combination of theory, evidence, discussion, group work and action learning principles.
This seminar will count towards participatory learning for NMC revalidation purposes
Course fees include tea/coffee and course handouts on the day
