    Nursing Exhibition to celebrate Florence Nightingale opens digitally

    The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) in Northern Ireland has collaborated with the Florence Nightingale Foundation, Department of Health and a number of other nursing and midwifery organisations to produce an exhibition to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale and the contribution of nursing and midwifery in Northern Ireland.

    Half of nursing staff under pressure to work without PPE, reveals RCN

    Half of nursing staff, including those working in in the most high-risk environments, have felt pressure to carry out their work without the levels of protection set out in official guidance, the RCN can reveal. High-risk environments include areas where patients with or suspected of having COVID-19 were being treated on ventilators.

    The RCN in Northern Ireland has written to the First Minister and Deputy First Minister to demand their intervention in ensuring the sufficient supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) for nursing staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.
