RCN Northern Ireland Networks are groups of members who have a special interest and/or expertise in a particular nursing speciality, working together to share ideas and improve practice.
RCN Northern Ireland Independent Sector
In Northern Ireland, we have a significant number of RCN
members employed in the independent sector. These members consist of nurses and
health care assistants/nursing assistants.
This page will provide all RCN members employed in the independent sector an opportunity to engage further with the RCN professional development resources and provide relevant beneficial signposting to all that the RCN offer.
The Independent sector in Northern Ireland is inclusive of nursing homes, independent hospitals, nursing agencies, hospice services, general practice nurses and independent sector school nurses.
The RCN in Northern Ireland has independent sector member-led networks that provide an opportunity for professional networking and support. These networks are the Independent Sector Nurse Managers Network (ISNMN), the Independent Sector Network (ISN) the General Practice Nurse Network, and the Independent School Nurses Network (ISNN). The General Practice Nurse Network staff link is Senior Nurse of Professional Practice Linzi McElroy. The ISNMN, ISN and the ISNN networks staff link are the Northern Ireland Lead Nurse for the Independent Health and Social Care Brenda Rushe.
If you are interested in joining the independent sector networks, please contact Brenda Rushe at Brenda.Rushe@rcn.org.uk.
