I am overawed by the commitment and bravery I have seen shown by nursing staff all over the region as you are all going over and above to meet the challenge of this crisis. Whether working directly with COVID-19 patients or ensuring services to other groups to continue - I know you are doing all you can to ensure the best outcomes to your patients.
I want to assure you that we in the RCN are continuing to support you. We have been lobbying locally and nationally for you on a range of issues, employment and professional - from contracting to protection equipment. We are here to support your individual needs as always via RCN Direct on 03457726100 or via the website.
My team in the region are all working from home supporting members - individual member queries and working with employers to ensure that nursing interests are given every consideration in the hour-by-hour changing environment - to ensure you have the same level of support from us as ever.
In addition our amazing RCN representatives are still undertaking their RCN duties on top of their nursing roles; so, if you need us, we are all here for you, don’t be afraid to ask for help.
We understand that you have so many questions relating to the current crisis and we have produced a vast array of advice guides on every subject related to COVID-19 and all are available on our dedicated COVID-19 webpage. If you think there is something missing please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Please keep in touch with us in the region by following our social media accounts: Facebook and and Twitter.
I would like to wish you a very happy Easter weekend. I hope you all get to spend at least some time away from work relaxing.
Take care
Lucy Muchina, Director, RCN South West.
