Responding to the latest NHS staff survey for England, Dame Donna Kinnair, RCN Chief Executive and General Secretary, said:
“Nursing is a hugely rewarding career, and we need to spread that message to recruit more people to the profession. But it is hard to do that when our professionals continue to face the threat of verbal abuse or violence at work.
"The announcement by the Health Secretary this morning of renewed efforts to tackle violence against staff is welcome and we will need to see its impact in future staff surveys."
