RCN Student Information Officer (SIO) Programme: Being part of the RCN - connecting and campaigning
19 Nov 2019, 10:00 - 16:00
Choose event information:
Come along to our latest workshop for RCN Student Information Officers, a network of RCN student members who work closely with the RCN to support and share information with their fellow students.
The RCN sees the SIO role as vital to ensuring the voice of nursing students across England is heard not only by the RCN, but also by employers and nurse education institutions. As a result, we have introduced a learning and development programme to give focus to the work of our SIOs and help them develop their knowledge, skills and leadership potential.
Taking part is a great opportunity to access continuing professional development, network with your peers, share ideas, and learn from other nursing professionals and students.
This workshop is aimed at SIOs in the Midlands regions (East and West) and will focus on what it means to be active in the RCN and how to campaign on behalf of the RCN. It will look specifically at the role the SIO can play in contributing to RCN campaigns and give attendees the knowledge and skills to influence and engage with this activity.
The RCN will cover travel costs for SIOs attending the workshop, and will book travel on your behalf. Therefore, when you book your place please indicate the train station you will be travelling from to get to Birmingham.
This event is free to attend and lunch is provided – if you have any specific dietary requirements, please let us know when you book your place.
