The RCN Awards are one of the key ways we highlight and celebrate the achievements of outstanding members and nursing professionals. We need your help to do this, especially with nominations for the RCN Fellowship and RCN Award of Merit.
The RCN Fellowship recognises innovative nurses who have made an outstanding contribution to advancing the science and practice of nursing and the improvement of health and patient care.
The Award of Merit is the highest honour bestowed for voluntary service to the RCN. Award winners have consistently exceeded expectations, making a significant contribution in their RCN roles.
Nominations close on Monday 16 January, so don't delay. Find out more about the awards and how to submit your nomination.
RCN President Sheilabye Sobrany said: “You have a crucial role to play in helping us to identify our nursing colleagues who are deserving of these special awards. We particularly welcome nominations highlighting the contributions of RCN members which reflect the diversity of the whole RCN membership and the wider nursing profession.”
To put someone forward for the Fellowship or Award of Merit, you will need three other people to support your nomination. Each supporting statement should demonstrate how the nominee meets the criteria for the award. Supporters should come from a range of backgrounds to show the reach of the nominee’s work.
If you're seeking inspiration, read our interview with 2022 RCN Fellowship recipient Tendai Nzirawa, who discusses the cultural awareness training programme she delivers for maternity, neonatal and health care professionals which led to her nomination.
Nominations are also still open and welcome for Reps of the Year and Student Ambassador of the Year Awards until 16 January.
